The Massachusetts School Building Authority (the “MSBA”)’s 2026 Statement of Interest (“SOI”) submittal period the Core Program is now closed.

The 2026 SOI submittal period for the Core Program closed on Friday, April 17, 2026.

MSBA Grant Program Information

The MSBA’s grant program is a non-entitlement, competitive program. The grants are distributed by the MSBA Board of Directors based on need and urgency, as expressed by districts and validated by the MSBA. The Core Program is intended for new construction, addition, and/or renovation projects. The MSBA completes an extensive review of available information for all submitted Statement of Interest (“SOI”) for the Core Program.

Submitting an SOI is the critical first step in the MSBA’s program for school building construction, addition, and/or renovation or repair grants. It allows districts to inform the MSBA about deficiencies that may exist in a local school facility and how those deficiencies inhibit the delivery of the district’s educational program.
